The external motorized pulley is a new electric drive unit where the motor is mounted outside the drum body while the reduction mechanism is installed inside the drum. It retains all the advantages of conventional motorized pulleys and overcomes the drawbacks of poor heat dissipation, easy burnout and limited power capacity of built-in motor versions. Its power rating can reach 160 kW or higher.
External motorized pulleys are available in three mounting types: Type I, Type II and Type III to meet installation requirements for different working conditions. There are three internal reduction transmission structures: fixed-axis gear, cycloidal pin gear and planetary gear, all of which are elaborately designed.
Matched power units adopt standard Y-series motors. If YB flameproof motors are selected, the unit can be used in flameproof hazardous areas. Therefore, all models of external motorized pulleys can be supplied in flameproof versions.
The external motorized pulleys manufactured by our company are equipped with HL-type elastic pin couplings complying with GB5014-85. For high-power models, a YOX torque-limiting fluid coupling can replace the coupling to improve starting performance. A brake can be fitted where braking is required. YWZ electric hydraulic shoe brakes are adopted, matched with couplings or fluid couplings of the same specification fitted with brake wheels. A backstop can be installed for anti-reversing requirements.
We can design motor brackets and protective covers for brakes, couplings and fluid couplings according to customer requirements.
Our external motorized pulleys are widely used on medium and large belt conveyors in ports, mines, metallurgy, electric power and other industries.
